The Mark 2 benefited from a larger glass area and a wider rear track to improve handling and the looks. The new model was fitted with more chrome and a completely new interior layout. The Mark 2 was also available with a choice of three engine sizes, 2.4 litre, 3.4 litre and 3.8 litre.

Based on the Mark 2 monocoque, revised at the rear to accommodate independent rear suspension and a larger boot area, the front wings were also modified along with the trim. Internally more plush than the Mark 2 with new seating and trim, the car was only available with the larger 3.4 litre or 3.8-litre engines. The S-type models were dropped from the range in 1968.
  • 1968 Daimler 250 V8
    £0.00

    Production Years: 1962-1969

In 1960 Jaguar acquired Daimler and with a need to increase sales to return that company to profit, a new model was devised based around the Jaguar Mark 2 body shell and trim. Called the Daimler 2.5 litre V8 saloon, the main difference was the fitting of Daimler’s own 2.5 litre V8 engine, mated initially only to an automatic transmission. With subtle trim changes including the use of fluted Daimler grille and boot badging, the car revitalised Daimler sales.
