1973 Daimler 4.2 Series 1
Production years: 1968 - 1973
Introduced with the standard 4.2 litre XK engine from the 420, there was also a new configuration of 2.8 litres to meet the demands of tax conscious markets. This engine was never used in any other models because of inherent problems with holing pistons. Launched as a Jaguar model only, by 1969 a Daimler derivative became available, badged engineered into the brand as the Sovereign.

1973 Daimler Series 1 SWB with original full length pull back wabesto Sun-roof with front and rear electric windows.
This vehicle we have owned for over 33 years. Now for sale and to be restored, Including a bare metal repaint in the original colour of Green Sands, totally retrimmed new leather seats, interior carpets, new veneered dash & instrument panel including refurbished chrome fittings as required. All mechanics and electrics will be fully ovehauled as required. We had also fitted this Daimler with the later Series 3 engine & cylinder head some tears ago. At the time this was a very low milage engine. She also has the uprated 4 pot later front brake callipers with ventilated brake discs from the later Jaguar Series 3 so she has a much better braking system than the earlier 3 pot brake callipers which she left the factory with.
The vehicle can be fitted with new Chrome steel wheels with new hub caps, alternatively Chrome Wire wheels with hubs and new chrome spinners as an option. Also the new owner has the option of a Manual or Automatic transmission (She is currently fitted with the original BW Model 12 Automatic transmission) This vehicle has been dry stored for many years and still has a running engine with fantastic oil pressure. This will make great Classic Car investment.
