Daimler 250 V8
Production Years: 1962-1969
In 1960 Jaguar acquired Daimler and with a need to increase sales to return that company to profit, a new model was devised based around the Jaguar Mark 2 body shell and trim. Called the Daimler 2.5 litre V8 saloon, the main difference was the fitting of Daimler’s own 2.5 litre V8 engine, mated initially only to an automatic transmission. With subtle trim changes including the use of fluted Daimler grille and boot badging, the car revitalised Daimler sales.
